Info
On December 15, 2026, at the Silo in Marseille, Hiba Tawaji invites Ibrahim Maalouf for a voice/trumpet dialogue nourished by their Lebanese roots and their journeys between pop, jazz and Levantine music. Between songs in Arabic and French, expansive arrangements and moments of improvisation, the evening unfolds according to their exchanges: clear vocal lines, a supple soprano timbre, quarter‑tone trumpet responses, and a rhythm section that shifts the atmospheres.
Trained in Beirut between the conservatory and the stage, discovered in France on The Voice and later in the role of Esmeralda in Notre‑Dame de Paris, Hiba Tawaji has built a repertoire where Middle Eastern pop intersects chanson and orchestrations close to the classical tradition. On stage she moves from ballads to more rhythmic numbers, alternates registers and languages, and keeps the text at the center.
A Franco‑Lebanese trumpeter, Ibrahim Maalouf has developed a writing style that connects jazz, Arab traditions and music for film, with the quarter‑tone trumpet as his signature. Accustomed to collaborations, he here slips in singing motifs, countermelodies and choruses designed to leave space for Hiba’s voice and to drive the group’s energy. Together they weave a shared repertoire of rearranged covers and original compositions, between breath, melody and the circulation of influences.
