Info
The Savage Rose take the stage with a set that traces their long path from late-60s psychedelic beginnings to the more stripped, gospel-tinged sound of recent years. Formed in Copenhagen in 1967, the band shaped its identity around the voice of Annisette Hansen and organ-led arrangements, blending folk, classical and Balkan influences into rock with a theatrical edge. Early albums like The Savage Rose, In the Plain and Travelin’ set the tone; the 70s brought concept projects such as the ballet score Dødens Triumf and lyrics that moved toward sharper political themes. After a quieter spell, the group resurfaced in the 90s with Black Angel, then carried on with Tameless, Love and Freedom, Roots of the Wasteland and Homeless, exploring a more acoustic, soulful palette.
On 15 April 2026 at Portalen in Greve, Denmark, The Savage Rose play a show that connects these chapters: organ textures, steady grooves and melodies that move between protest and tenderness. The focus stays on Annisette’s phrasing and the balance between pulse and ballad, with earlier staples revisited alongside later pieces that keep the thread intact.
