At the Trabendo in Paris on 17 November 2026, The Meltdown brings a Southern soul nourished by Stax and Motown, with a taste for Nashville-style songwriting. Formed around singer and keyboardist Simon Burke, the Australian band offers a set in which a captivating, soulful voice rests on hypnotic grooves, a supple rhythm section and elegant horns. Between ballads and mid-tempo numbers, the ensemble blends 1960s soul, country-soul, gospel and rhythm and blues, carried by clear melodies and a confident narrative sense. The repertoire draws from their two albums, The Meltdown (2017) and It's A Long Road (2023), with arrangements tailored for the stage: prominent keyboards, saxophones and trumpets that emphasize the lines, and dynamics that build in stages. An evening where the warmth of the arrangements meets a danceable pulse, crafted to move both the heart and the feet.
