Son Little

Son Little lands at Longboat Hall in Toronto on June 17, 2026. Under that name, Philadelphia musician Aaron Earl Livingston has been shaping a hybrid soul that folds blues, R&B and folk into slow-burning grooves and rough-edged guitars. His songs favor lean forms, a hushed voice and gospel shadings, balancing intimate storytelling with contemporary textures.

Launched by the EP Things I Forgot (2014) and a self-titled debut in 2015, his path has continued through New Magic (2017), Aloha (2020) and Like Neptune (2022). Across these records, he sharpens concise writing and a taste for stripped arrangements, moving from minimalist blues to more psychedelic colors without losing a sense of pulse.

Before and alongside his own work, Son Little teamed with The Roots and producer RJD2, notably within the Icebird project, and wrote and produced for Mavis Staples on the EP Your Good Fortune. On stage, this background feeds a set where grainy guitar lines, slow grooves and subtle harmonies meet, reworking a deep Afro‑American heritage in a present-day frame.
