Les Wriggles

On March 3, 2027, at the Théâtre Femina in Bordeaux, Les Wriggles give it their all. The voice-and-guitar quartet returns to its favourite playground: songs that sting and soothe, somewhere between sung vignettes and razor-tight harmonies. They observe everyday life with an off-kilter humour—enough to make you smile, wince or choke up—and bring these stories to the stage with precise stagecraft and a strong sense of ensemble. The show features new numbers that feed their album Quatre Étoiles, a nod to the four-piece format and our modern abundance. You’ll encounter “Aimé,” a poetically absurd fantasy; “Sboudibou,” with more electric edges; and “Barbeuc Party,” a seemingly festive tune with a lingering neighbourly aftertaste. Longtime fans will also find classics like “Poupine et Thierry” and “La Petite Olive,” rearranged for this lineup and woven together with the new songs. Between tight choruses, clever counterpoints and acoustic guitars, Les Wriggles put language back at the centre and make every piece come alive on stage.
