Info
Quinn Oulton will perform live at the Pop-up du Label in Paris on February 25, presenting his universe at the crossroads of alternative R&B, experimental pop and jazz.
A multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer based in London, Quinn Oulton has made musical exploration the heart of his work. With a jazz background and mastery of complex musical structures, he now channels this richness into more contemporary textures, straddling R&B and alt-pop. His tracks blend immediate melodies with meticulous arrangements, rich in detail and texture.
His work, notably his debut album Alexithymia and tracks such as 100 Degrees, a collaboration with Reuben James and Linden Jay, have accumulated millions of streams and earned him support from media outlets and radio. Quinn has toured the UK and Europe, alongside Knower, Elijah Fox and Jamie Cullum. In parallel, he produces and performs with other artists such as Priya Ragu, Eyelar and Amie Blu.
With his second album, What I Meant To Say, Quinn Oulton seeks to transcend the oppositions that structure our daily lives: art or business, success or failure, light or darkness. Moving away from the rigid categories of his jazz roots, he develops a sound positioned between alt-R&B and experimental pop.
Released on the Dutch label Frequency, the project explores this search for nuance through several tracks: Comfort Food tackles dependency from an unexpected angle, Catastrophe questions our addiction to doom-scrolling, while Circles, with Nix Northwest, offers a meditation on nostalgia and childhood. With this album, Quinn Oulton asserts a universe where the digital and the analog meet, raw emotion and meticulous production.
