Info
On May 15, 2027 at O2 Academy Birmingham, Hootie & The Blowfish bring their warm, straight-ahead American rock back to the stage, driven by bright guitars, big choruses and Darius Rucker’s unmistakable deep voice. Formed in Columbia, South Carolina, the band built its sound in the late-’80s college-rock circuit before breaking through in the mid-’90s with Cracked Rear View, a record that leaned into melody and rootsy pop-rock rather than the era’s heavier trends. Expect a set that moves between crowd-friendly hooks and the more recent, road-tested side of the group that’s been touring steadily again since their return.
Joining them, Spin Doctors add their own New York mix of alternative rock, funk grooves and jam-ready energy. Since the early ’90s Pocket Full of Kryptonite era, their songs have always left space for the band’s loose, live chemistry, and more recent blues-rock leanings have kept the sound grounded and direct. Together, it’s a night built for sing-alongs, rhythm, and bands that know how to make a room move.
