Info
Penelope Road bring their 'Maybe In Time Tour' to Yuca in Cologne on May 12, 2027. The five-piece band from Atlanta sits somewhere between indie rock, soul and pop, with a clear funk impulse: plenty of groove in the rhythm section, plus flexible guitars and keyboards, and above all a vocal that not only sits on top but helps shape the songs. Instead of a classic frontperson focus, they rely on a collective interplay in which harmonies and arrangement ideas are just as important as drive and dynamics. You hear hints of the 1970s, but without a retro costume: more like a warm foundation for contemporary songwriting that quickly sticks in the ear and, live, often feels a touch more direct. After first releases in the mid-2020s and an EP in 2024, this is a good moment to experience this still-young band in a club setting.
