Info
On April 25, 2027, The Rock Orchestra lands at Avenir Centre in Moncton with its “By Candlelight” show: a dark, theatrical take on rock and heavy metal classics, rebuilt for a full ensemble. Instead of a standard symphony setup, the collective mixes classical strings with the punch of drums and guitars, aiming for something heavier, denser, and closer to a live rock gig than a seated concert.
The project was shaped in the early 2020s in the UK by creator Nathan Reed, expanding on the Festival of the Dead universe and turning lockdown-era limits into a new stage format. Expect candlelit staging, a shadowy atmosphere, and visual elements leaning into masks, macabre costumes, and big, immersive set pieces. No frontman, no band hierarchy: the focus stays on the group and on familiar songs transformed into dramatic orchestral arrangements.
