The Chameleons bring the British post-punk heritage to Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on 14 March 2027. The band formed in the early 1980s near Manchester and quickly found their own place with a rich, melodic guitar sound: prominent bass lines, echoing guitar motifs, and a vocal that balances the edge between darkness and the singable.
Live, you can expect a set that draws clear lines to the classic trio Script of the Bridge (1983), What Does Anything Mean? Basically (1985) and Strange Times (1986), where grand atmospheres and tight song structures go hand in hand. After disbanding in the late 1980s, The Chameleons returned around the turn of the millennium with tours and recordings, including the more stripped-back interpretations on Strip. Today Mark Burgess continues to carry the name forward, and the concert is a chance to experience the band's atmospheric rock and introspective guitar-pop up close.
