Info
On May 15, 2027, Massey Hall in Toronto hosts Damien Rice for the O 25th Anniversary Tour, a return to the record that set the tone for his intimate, tension-filled take on folk and indie folk. Built around voice, guitar and piano, O is all about space and restraint, with songs that can feel barely held together, then suddenly open up into sharper climbs. Expect a set that leans into that stripped-down spirit: the kind of performance where silences matter as much as the notes, and where dynamics do most of the talking.
Rice’s writing has always favored acoustic arrangements and direct emotion over decoration, moving from soft, confessional passages to moments that hit harder without changing the core simplicity. Live, he’s known for shifting between pared-back formats and fuller ensemble colors, always keeping the focus on the fragility of the vocal delivery and the push-pull of quiet and release. This anniversary date is a chance to hear those songs breathe again, in a room made for nuance.
