On March 10, 2027, LA Priest will perform at Kantine am Berghain in Berlin. Behind the name lies Samuel Eastgate, former singer, guitarist and keyboardist with Late of the Pier, and it is precisely this heritage from Britain's 2000s club and indie hybrids that you can hear to this day. Live, his sound moves between synth-pop, art-pop and indietronica, with funk-edged grooves, a touch of psychedelia, and songwriting that often takes things a step further.
Since Inji (2015), which he largely built on his own, Eastgate has continued to broaden his approach: Gene (2020) arose from a collaboration with producer Erol Alkan, Fase Luna (2023) brought new colours and the energy of collaborative sessions into the mix after a stay in Mexico. Expect a performance that moves through smooth vocal lines and offset grooves, while the arrangements constantly shift without losing the pop core.
