Info
Mike + The Mechanics bring their “Back on Track Tour” to Birmingham on May 10, 2027, with a set built around the band’s gift for tight songwriting and big, clean choruses. Born in the mid-80s as Mike Rutherford’s side project during a Genesis break, the group has always leaned into that pop-rock and soft-rock sweet spot: polished arrangements, a steady groove, and melodies that stick without trying too hard.
Live, the show is designed to move through the eras, from the late-80s run that put them on the map with songs like “Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)”, “All I Need Is a Miracle” and “The Living Years”, to the later chapters that kept the sound modern without dropping the classic feel. With Rutherford at the center and a vocal team built for contrast and harmonies, this Birmingham date at Symphony Hall promises a career-spanning night that’s more about songs you know than nostalgia for its own sake.
