Info
Black Roots land in London on November 22, 2026 at Jazz Cafe, bringing the kind of UK roots reggae that’s built for big bass, tight harmonies, and lyrics that don’t dodge real life. Formed in 1979 in Bristol’s St Paul’s district, the crew became a key voice of the early ’80s scene, channeling the social and political pressure of the time into dub-driven songs that hit with clarity and weight.
If you know them from their BBC sessions and the era when they were a staple on UK and European stages, this show is a chance to reconnect with that original spirit. And if you came in later, their return since the 2010s has kept the message sharp, with new records that stick to the roots while letting the low-end breathe. Expect a set that moves between classic foundations and their more recent material, all carried by that unmistakable collective vocal sound.
