Info
When Till Brönner meets the SWR Big Band, jazz quickly becomes a grand narrative: warm trumpet, subdued sound, precisely placed accents, and a sense for arrangements that comes just as much from contemporary jazz as from pop, soul, Bossa Nova, and the crooner cosmos. Brönner, trained in Cologne and early on the scene with the RIAS Big Band, stands for an aesthetic that does not rely on virtuoso posturing but on tone, timing, and atmosphere.
On April 17, 2027, he brings with the SWR Big Band the program "Italia - Ancora!" to Theater am Marientor in Duisburg. What to expect is an evening in which Brönner's elegant tone meets the power and agility of a big band: clear brass lines, supple grooves, and room for melody without losing the tension. A concert for everyone who loves jazz presented openly, in a song-centered manner, and with a keen ear for detail.
