Info
On February 5, 2027, Nubiyan Twist land at Rescue Rooms in Nottingham with a new line-up and a fresh live show built for movement. The Leeds-born collective comes in as a nine-piece unit, where tight brass lines, punchy percussion and vocal hooks lock together with the snap of UK jazz.
Their sound pulls from jazz, afrobeat, soul, hip-hop and dance music without getting stuck in any one lane: arranged big-band power, space for improvisation, and rhythms that keep the set driving forward. Known for reshaping their ensemble depending on the project, they’re bringing that fluid energy to this date, with grooves designed to hit hard and stay warm.
If you’ve followed their collaborations with figures like Nile Rodgers, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti or Fatoumata Diawara, expect that same open-door approach: music that connects scenes and styles, and turns the room into one shared pulse.
