Info
On February 11, 2027, Ezra Collective will land at Fållan in Johanneshov with their London-tinged mix of contemporary jazz and clubby grooves. The quintet — with Femi Koleoso on drums, TJ Koleoso on bass, Joe Armon-Jones on keys, Ife Ogunjobi on trumpet, and James Mollison on sax — builds the show on a collective drive where improvisation and tight riffs go hand in hand. Expect a sound that moves freely between Afrobeat, funk, hip-hop, dub, reggae, and Caribbean influences, without losing the jazz core. The material nods to the journey from early releases such as Chapter 7 and Juan Pablo: The Philosopher through You Can’t Steal My Joy to Where I’m Meant to Be, which earned them the Mercury Prize in 2023, and onward toward the newer direction on Dance, No One’s Watching. An evening for anyone who wants jazz that feels in the body as much as in the mind.
