Info
Hard Life lands in Leicester on December 11, 2026 at O2 Academy Leicester, bringing home the band formerly known as Easy Life. Formed in the city in 2017 around singer and songwriter Murray Matravers, the group has built its sound on that sweet spot between indie pop and alternative pop, with hip-hop phrasing, a bit of soul, and the kind of jazzy touches that keep the grooves loose. On stage, the songs play with that half-sung, half-rapped delivery, carried by laid-back rhythms and choruses that stick without forcing it.
Over the years they’ve shaped this world through early releases and mixtapes like Creature Habits, Spaceships and Junk Food, then full-length records such as Life’s a Beach and Maybe in Another Life..., always circling everyday stories with a mix of melancholy and lightness. Re-emerging as hard life in 2024, they now bring that same signature blend into a live set made for moving, singing along, and catching the details in the arrangements.
