Info
On April 15, 2027, Jack Kays will perform at Melkweg in Amsterdam with a show that fits his own blend of indie rock, hip-hop, pop-punk and emo exactly. In his tracks you hear melodic singing and rap phrasing alternating, with tense guitars and choruses that linger. From his early SoundCloud days he has increasingly written in a more alternating style, without relinquishing the direct, personal tone. Live, that translates into songs that lean on tension: energy and vulnerability in the same breath, with lyrics that touch on mental health, isolation and addiction. Expect material from Mixed Emotions and his run of EPs, plus the Deadbeat! releases that push his confessional approach further. Jack Kays now likes to present this with a band, including his brother Austin on bass, which gives extra weight to the pop-punk and emo sides.
