Info
Groundation was formed in the late 1990s around Harrison Stafford, and has carved out a distinctive place by blending roots reggae, jazz harmonies, and long stretches of improvisation. On stage, the collective plays with contrasts: rising tension, dub grooves, bursts of brass, leaner passages, and that inhabited voice that holds the thread. On May 14, 2027 at L’Autre Canal in Nancy, the group returns with 'A Tribute to Bob Marley', a set conceived as a living homage to Marley’s repertoire and message, but also to the Wailers’ sound that shaped roots reggae. Here, no carbon copy: Groundation reinterprets the classics as deeper tracks, injecting them with its winding arrangements, instrumental breaths, and its sense of dialogue among musicians. A concert to bring Marley into the present, carried by the collective energy and the jam spirit that defines the band's signature.
