Info
Groundation arrives in Marseille with a set "Tribute To Bob Marley" that sheds light on both the Jamaican heritage and their own distinctive way of letting the roots breathe. Born in the late 1990s in California around Harrison Stafford, the collective built its signature on a taut and vibrant reggae, interwoven with jazz harmonies, improvisations, and long instrumental crescendos where the brass have room to breathe.
On stage, their writing leaves space for dialogue between keyboards, guitar, and the rhythm section, with dub detours and syncopations that recall the great moments of 1970s reggae without slipping into mere recreation. This tribute concert is an opportunity to rediscover their taste for deep grooves and lyrics marked by spirituality and social questions, in the spirit of the records that forged their reputation, from Each One Teach One and Hebron Gate to One Rock.
