Info
On February 25, 2027, Tommy Castro with The Painkillers will perform at Metropool in Hengelo. Castro has been a fixture in the Bay Area blues scene since the 1970s: a singer-guitarist who makes electric blues collide with rhythm and blues, soul, and a rock edge that centers on tight interplay.
With The Painkillers, he brings that story even more directly to the stage: a compact quartet sound that skims between boogie and urban blues, with room for soul accents and riffs that land right away. Don’t expect long detours, but a set that leans on groove, raw guitar lines, and a voice that pushes the song forward. During that phase with the band, he further built on albums such as The Devil You Know, Stompin’ Ground, A Bluesman Came to Town and Closer to the Bone—material that can sound especially sharp live.
