I almost named this show 'Pleasure'. And then I thought that the only pleasures one would think of in front of a title like that would be pleasures forbidden to anyone under 18. But, for financial reasons, I want under-18s to be able to attend my show as well. So I called it 'Delicious': it's a family show.
In an hour and fifteen minutes, I will attempt to untangle the complexity of what provokes pleasure in human beings. Of course, pleasure can come from a glass of Chasselas that we let linger by the lake's edge in spring. But it can also be provoked by the death of someone we don't love. Of course, an unexpected promotion within the company brings joy. But also the fact of eating Gruyère in Gruyères, or knowing—when one is French—that you do not pronounce the 'z' in Étivaz (which allows us to delight in correcting all the fools who get it wrong). My aim is to evoke in you a certain pleasure, in a mise en abyme as delicious as eating Gruyère in Gruyères.
