Info
Nine Below Zero + Dr Feelgood bring two key strains of UK rhythm and blues to Bootleg Social in Blackpool on September 25, 2027.
Nine Below Zero came out of South London’s late-70s pub-rock circuit with a brisk, wired take on classic R&B: tight guitar lines, punchy grooves, and that signature harmonica presence. Built around founding frontman and guitarist Dennis Greaves, with Mark Feltham on harp, their shows keep the pace high and the arrangements lean, mixing originals with sharped-up nods to Chicago blues, rock’n’roll, and soul.
Dr. Feelgood, born on Canvey Island in the early 70s, still plays rhythm and blues like it’s made for small rooms and sweaty stages: short, groove-first songs, clipped riffs, and a dry, nervous drive that helped define pub rock and opened the door to punk. With classics from their early run and the live intensity that made Stupidity a landmark, they’re back to do what they’ve always done best: straight-ahead R&B, no detours.
