AFAR comes to Cinetol in Amsterdam on 30 September 2026 with a set that lets krautwave and psychedelic rock collide with electronics. The Berlin duo builds their songs from warm analog synths, a tight machine-like rhythm and bursts of raw guitar, while a hypnotic voice keeps it all together. In their sound, grunge, trip-hop and techno-like textures slide over one another, never letting it sit in one box.
Live, AFAR feels like a moving current: sometimes intimate and close to the skin, at other times grand and floating on that pulsing motor. Expect no standalone tracks, but a continuous trip in which tension and stillness alternate.
Central to it is Changing Rules, their third studio album: an album that emphasizes presence and eruption, with an undertone of resistance to noise and distraction. A concert for those who prefer to seek out the real edges rather than the slick background music.
