Hard to pin down and not really trying to be, Allah-Las have been carving their own lane since forming in Los Angeles in 2008. The band’s chemistry, born out of record-store days at Amoeba Music, translates into songs built on tone and space: reverb-heavy guitars, tight rhythms, soft harmonies, and that hazy mix of garage rock, surf and gentle psychedelia. They’ve never chased spectacle, preferring pacing and atmosphere, sometimes letting the instruments do the talking.
On 24 May 2027 at Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow, expect a set that moves through the cinematic drift of Calico Review, the outward-looking colors of LAHS, and the more exploratory side of their recent work. Their latest chapter, Sirenas, leans fully into an instrumental approach, stretching their storytelling without words and keeping the focus on texture, travel, and the strange feeling of being somewhere familiar and unplaceable at once.
