On February 11, 2027, Ariel Posen brings his solo show to Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow, shaping a set where songwriting comes first and the guitar simply follows the melody. Based in Winnipeg, he moves between roots rock, blues, folk and soul with a smooth, melodic slide style that feels more like a voice than a trick.
After being first spotted as the guitarist in The Bros. Landreth, Posen stepped out on his own at the end of the 2010s, putting his singing and arrangements front and center. Expect the kind of flow you hear across How Long, Headway and Reasons Why: slow-burning ballads, airy atmospheres, and groove-led moments that land without forcing it. On stage, he goes for warmth and detail rather than flash, letting the band dynamic and the phrasing do the work.
