Info
Urne to perform live at the Think Tank in Newcastle.
A London-based trio, Urne moves at the crossroads of sludge metal, hardcore, thrash, and classic heavy metal, with a pronounced penchant for progressive developments and extended songs. Born from the ashes of Hang the Bastard, of which Angus Neyra and Joe Nally were members, the band has established itself in the British metal and hardcore scenes, expanding its presence on stages and at festivals.
In 2021, Urne released Serpent & Spirit, an album where heavy riffs meet post-hardcore tension and dark melodic lines. In 2023, A Feast on Sorrow, produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira, tightened the writing around a more direct sound and a register permeated by mourning and loss. During this period the band shared the stage with groups such as Avatar, Alien Weaponry, and Kvelertak, while also continuing their own tours.
The third album Setting Fire to the Sky, scheduled for January 2026, continues this trajectory with a broader writing approach. The first single, Harken The Waves, features Troy Sanders of Mastodon.
