Info
On 11 November 2026, Band on the Wall in Manchester hosts a roots reggae double bill built around two voices that shaped the sound of the late 70s and kept it moving ever since.
Culture arrive led by Kenyatta Hill, carrying the torch of Joseph Hill’s original vision: tight vocal harmonies, Rastafarian spirituality, and sharp social commentary riding deep basslines and crisp off-beats. From the breakthrough era of Two Sevens Clash and Baldhead Bridge through later conscious, dub-tinged cuts, the set draws on a catalogue made for chanting along, with Kenyatta’s energy and phrasing keeping the classic repertoire alive on stage.
Sharing the night is Cedric Myton, the unmistakable high tenor of The Congos. Known for spiritual harmonies and the Black Ark magic of Heart of the Congos with Lee “Scratch” Perry, Myton brings a set drawn from that iconic songbook: soaring falsetto lines, meditative grooves, and the kind of vocals that turn a reggae show into a proper communion.
