Info
On December 4, 2026, mustbejohn lands at Gorilla in Manchester with a set built on that in-between space where indie-pop hooks meet melodic spoken word. His songs move like short scenes: urban routines, friendships, nights that stretch out, and those awkward moments of personal change where you’re not sure what comes next. Live, he keeps things direct and narrative, letting the words drive while the choruses open up into something you can actually sing back.
Known for tracks like “Last Dances” and “Jenny’s House”, he’s been sharpening a sound that nods to UK indie and light electronic pop, with that spoken-sung phrasing that feels close to everyday conversation. Since the 2025 EP “Hope Came Last”, the project has leaned further into an indie-alternative edge, without losing the immediacy. Expect a show that plays on both group energy and lyrical intimacy, with sharp social observation threaded through melodic refrains.
