Info
On March 3, 2027, at Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone, Rick Wakeman brings his “The Wizard of Prog: Ultimate Highlights Concert Tour” onstage, a live run built around the keyboard moments that made his name. Classically trained before diving into London’s late-60s studio scene, Wakeman became a key part of the progressive rock blueprint with Yes, shaping the sound of albums like Fragile and Close to the Edge with a mix of grand textures, fast runs and melodic flair.
This concert is a chance to hear that signature approach in a set that draws from his long solo journey too: concept-driven pieces and themes from landmark records such as The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and his Arthurian suite. Expect a show that moves between storytelling, symphonic colours and more stripped-back piano passages, reflecting the way he’s kept reshaping his repertoire from new prog suites to intimate reworkings over the decades.
