Info
On March 8, 2027, Loreena McKennitt will bring her 'The Mask and Mirror' songs to the Congress Center Rosengarten in Mannheim for the album's 30th anniversary. The Canadian musician has long moved between Celtic tradition, folk, and world music, with a sound that draws as much on poetry as on travel writing and old stories. On 'The Mask and Mirror' this stylistic handwriting is especially evident in influences from medieval Spain, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East: ballads, instrumental passages, and songs set to music, carried by her voice and acoustic arrangements. On stage, it will not be a nostalgic look back but a journey through an album that bridges cultures and eras. Those who have seen McKennitt live know that the focus is on subtle dynamics: string textures, clear melodies, rhythmic accents, and ample space for atmosphere. In Mannheim, an evening awaits that presents 'The Mask and Mirror' as a self-contained chapter—and, at the same time, as part of her broader musical cosmos.
