Info
John 5 brings his instrumental world to Slay Glasgow on October 17, 2026, with the kind of playing that’s made him a first-call guitarist across hard rock and metal. Known for moving from Los Angeles session work to bands like David Lee Roth and Marilyn Manson, and later Rob Zombie’s camp, he’s built a solo catalogue where heavy riffs, rapid-fire shredding and country-leaning twists collide in tightly written pieces. Under the John 5 and The Creatures banner, the show leans into groove, precision and sharp dynamic shifts, with a visual streak borrowed from horror cinema and a set designed to hit as hard live as it does on record. It’s a night for guitar heads, but also for anyone into rock that’s technical without losing its punch.
Dan Byrne opens the evening with a modern British rock approach shaped by hard rock, classic rock and soul edges. Since his 2023 EP Beginnings, he’s been honing a direct, stage-ready format: big melodic hooks, straight-ahead guitars, and a voice that can switch from grit to restraint without losing momentum. A solid warm-up built around songcraft and physical delivery.
