Katia Guerreiro's voice carries the heritage of fado, that singing which embodies the soul of Portugal, and through which she knows how to convey its emotions, in a blend of tenderness and nostalgia.
With more than twenty-five years in her career, ten albums and hundreds of concerts in numerous countries, Katia Guerreiro is today one of the most award-winning fadistas. A worthy heir to Amália Rodrigues, attentive to blending the strength of tradition with the boldness of modernity, she bears witness on stage to all the diverse musical influences from which she has drawn nourishment, but also to the dialogues begun with the poets whose words she sings, with the composers who accompany her, and above all with the three guitarist-musicians who, concert after concert, sculpt for her a setting in which emotion can unfold.
