A respected figure on the contemporary rap scene, the missing link between two generations of athletic and rugged rhymers, Sameer Ahmad does not need anyone to tell him he is one of the best-kept secrets of French rap. This Montpellier-born artist with a thousand lives, 'having left Baghdad as writing itself,' summons the bluesmen of the South, skate culture, pulp writers, and 1990s basketball players, re-centering performance and groove at the heart of rap. To celebrate the release of his new album Jovontae & Ezekiel: A Supreme Love LP, due out on September 30, Sameer once again invites his Parisian audience to a concert on November 13.
Nakk Mendosa (live)
Iconic rapper from Bobigny (93), active since the 1990s, Nakk began rap within the group Soldafada (produced by Ménélik), before pursuing a solo career. Thanks to his lyrical talent and artistic maturity, he is regarded as one of the best punchlines in French rap, effortlessly varying his flow while maintaining strong writing.
This event will allow the audience to enjoy live classics from Nakk and various extracts from his discography ('Debut EP', 'Street Minimum', 'Le Monde est mon pays', 'Darksun', 'Supernova', 'Darksun 2').
Toma! (live)
A young spokesperson for the sacred flying music, an expert in beat-cutting, always armed with verses to drop on whack MCs. A scientist of the bars and a keen aficionado of mafioso samples, accompanied by productions from his crew members Zicol and Francis, Toma! dives into his hazy, dreamlike world in which he tells a daily life tinged with doubt.
La Phonkerie (DJ set)
The first French label to embrace the phonk scene, La Phonkerie was founded in 2019, spearheaded by its two DJs, Jxy Breez and Tibo Brtz, alongside David Stora, graphic designer and illustrator. After a first compilation in 2020, events and projects followed, accompanied by physical media: cassette, vinyl, fanzines, etc. The label has just released Huitballe & Gotnotime's album 'Faux semblants,' as well as 'The Paris Chainsaw Massacre feat. Acid Souljah' in collaboration with San Louis Records.
