With Riot Days, Pussy Riot brings to the stage a multimedia performance drawn from Maria Alyokhina's memoirs, a prominent figure in the collective. Between live music, spoken word, video, and performative gestures, the show traces the group's commitment and revisits the episode that marked its history: the 2012 action, followed by imprisonment in Russia and what it reveals about a system of control. In the version presented in 2025, Riot Days further broadens the frame, addressing oppression and violence against LGBTQ+ people, the fate of Alexei Navalny, and the war waged against Ukraine by Vladimir Putin. A hybrid, in-your-face format, where punk, electronic music, and spoken word interlock to transform the political narrative into a live-stage experience.
