Info
With ‘My World is the Sun,’ Dominique Fils-Aimé returns to the stage to unfold her vocal jazz tinged with soul, carried by that velvety, felted grain that is her signature. Born in Montreal and nourished by her Haitian roots as much as by the heritage of Afro-American music, she composes a repertoire where silence matters as much as the notes, where the choirs, the rhythm of the voice, and the breaths sketch a very physical tension.
On stage, her pieces move between minimalist soul, contemporary jazz, and touches of R&B, with echoes of spirituals. Her journey, from Nameless to Stay Tuned! and then Three Little Words, has established a committed approach to Afro-descendant memory, before opening a more intimate vein in Our Roots Run Deep. On October 15, 2026, at the Capellia Cultural Space in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, she turns these themes into a performance that is both precise and inhabited, between an audience-friendly format and a more orchestrated breath depending on the titles.
