On 14 March 2027, Fairport Convention bring their Winter Tour to EartH in London, marking a Diamond Anniversary that’s less about nostalgia than about how a band keeps moving. Formed in 1967 and often credited with shaping British folk-rock, they still play with that tight balance between traditional ballads and the bite of electric guitars, lifted by fiddle lines and vocal harmonies.
Expect a set built like a proper journey through their long catalogue: staple songs that long-time listeners know by heart, plus deeper cuts and newer material that shows the band’s songwriting never stopped after the classic run that includes What We Did on Our Holidays, Unhalfbricking and the landmark Liege & Lief. On stage, founding member Simon Nicol leads on guitar and vocals alongside Dave Pegg on bass, with Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie switching between fiddle, mandolin and more, and Dave Mattacks driving the rhythm. The result is seasoned, lively, and very much in the moment.
