On February 2, 2027, Tangerine Dream bring their Level Tour 2027 to Epic Studios in Norwich. Founded in Berlin in 1967 by Edgar Froese, the group helped shape krautrock before carving out what would later be called the Berlin School: long-form instrumentals built on sequencers, drifting synth pads, and slow-burning shifts in mood. From the landmark Phaedra era to a catalogue that stretches across more than a hundred releases, their sound has kept evolving while staying rooted in repetition, texture, and forward motion.
The band’s music also travelled far beyond the stage through an extensive run of film soundtracks, from Sorcerer and Thief to Risky Business, Legend and Near Dark, plus game work like Grand Theft Auto V. Since Froese’s passing, musical director Thorsten Quaeschning, violinist Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick have steered the project back toward classic, sequencer-driven journeys, heard on Quantum Gate and the more recent studio album Raum. Live, they keep space for risk: sets often open into a final real-time composition, stretching and mutating in the moment.
