Southstar composes as one remembers a night: flashes of euphoria, a little blurry, just twisted enough to become personal. A Berlin-based producer and DJ, he moves between melodic house, techno at moderate tempos and electronic pop, with repetitive basslines, crisp synths and chopped and then reassembled vocals like a rhythmic motif. His tracks seek that exact point where nostalgia catches the present, between the sweat of a dancefloor and the blue glow of a screen at 3 a.m.
Revealed beyond the club circuit with 'Miss You' (2022), Southstar has since refined a direct sound, built on progressive crescendos and contrasting drops, meant as much for the floor as for solo listening. On September 11, 2026, at Nordstern in Basel, he will roll out this aesthetic in a DJ set: no need to overdo it; he prefers to cue the moment when everyone starts moving at the same time, with that slightly melancholic joy that lingers afterward.
