Moka Only lands on August 21, 2026 at The Starlite Room in Edmonton with his distinctive Canadian hip‑hop, nourished by jazz, soul and lo‑fi beats. A discreet yet ultra‑prolific figure on the Vancouver scene since the late 80s, he moves between rap, singing and spoken word with a flexible writing style and an atmosphere‑driven sensibility that prioritizes mood over showiness. From his beginnings in a collective to a sprawling solo discography, he has built an artisanal and warm sound, often relaxed, sometimes more abstract, always very personal. Milestones in his career include Road Life, Lime Green, Flood, The Desired Effect, but also more recent releases like Concert for One and In and of Itself, which extend this same freedom of tone.
Joining him on the bill, Mickey O’Brien rounds out the lineup for an evening geared toward open forms, between grooves, textures and an underground spirit.
