Tahiti 80 came to life in Rouen in the mid-1990s. Taking its name from a souvenir T-shirt, the band, an emblematic figure of French indie pop, made an impression from its earliest days. Their first album, Puzzle (1999), certified gold, opened the doors to international stages, including festivals such as Reading, Fuji Rock, and SXSW, as well as tours that helped seal their reputation. With hypnotic melodies and grooves that blend pop, electro, and rock, Tahiti 80 forged a musical universe that is instantly recognizable. Almost thirty years after their debut, the Rouen-based group is preparing, for September 2026, an eleventh album conceived as a new sonic adventure. Between punchy tracks and unprecedented musical explorations, this project will reflect their desire to reinvent themselves while remaining faithful to the essence that defines them. Tahiti 80 has always fostered a close rapport with its audience, in France as abroad. Generous music, vibrant concerts: the story of a band that pursues its path with passion and authenticity.
The Lanskies. After ten years of silence, The Lanskies are returning with a new album and a new lineup. The album War Machine will be released on 17 April 2026 on ZRP. Inventors of Hot Wave (Arte described their music that way in Tracks), The Lanskies return with a project at the crossroads of post-punk and indie pop influences, recorded at Studio de la Chouette, mixed by Clive Martin (Queen, The Cure, the Wampas, the Négresses Vertes, Stereophonics) and delivering a dense sound. Eleven rock tracks, powerful, fuse influences (Pulp, Talking Heads, Kaiser Chiefs, LCD Soundsystem and even Oasis) while maintaining a strong singularity. Today, The Lanskies press forward as a transcontinental force: the Liverpudlian Lewis Evans on vocals, the guitarist Florian von Kunnsberg, the bassist from Sheffield Anthony Cox, and the French rhythm section comprising Antoine Cadot (drums) and Alex Paul (lead guitar). Reputed for their live performances (about fifty shows on their previous album, which had taken them from Rock en Seine to China), their concert calendar is already filling with around ten announced dates. The album release coincides with Record Store Day; a collector’s vinyl will be offered on this occasion.
