Cheekface heads to Glasgow on November 18, 2026, at The Glasgow School of Art, with their nervy and chatty indie rock from Los Angeles. Formed in 2017 around Greg Katz and Amanda Tannen, joined by drummer Mark “Echo” Edwards, the trio has built its mark on a highly present talk-singing, straightforward guitars and tight rhythms, somewhere between pub rock and post-punk.
Their writing, full of everyday details, moves at a brisk pace: catchy phrases, dry humor, ordinary tension, and small modern obsessions. Revealed at the end of the decade with Dry Heat/Nice Town, Cheekface subsequently established themselves in the indie scene through online releases and live shows, without abandoning the DIY spirit.
Discography-wise, the trajectory reads clearly: Therapy Island (2019), Emphatically No. (2021), Too Much to Ask (2022) and It’s Sorted (2024). On stage, it’s bare-bones: short tracks, melodies that go straight to the point, and that semi-spoken phrasing that gives each title its own distinctive lift.
