Major League DJz are Bandile and Banele Mbere, South African twins and key figures on Johannesburg's club scene. Initially spotted in the wake of local hip-hop and the new-age kwaito in the early 2010s, they quickly shifted their sound toward amapiano, before broadening the spectrum: Afro-house, 3-step, deep electronic pads, percussion at the front and soft basslines that unfold at their own pace.
Their approach remains very dancefloor-focused, with gradual builds and a groove that matches the energy of clubs. They also carry forward this circulation of Southern African sounds through filmed formats like Balcony Mix Africa or Piano City, and extend the journey via their label Untitled Audio.
In Paris, they will perform at Silencio on August 22, 2026 for a set conceived as a journey, between the amapiano pulse and contemporary African electronic music.
