On August 1, Mia Mao welcomes Code Culture for an evening that explores techno in all its diversity, with Daria Kolosova, W.L.V.S, Phara and Nina Farrina. Between Phara’s analog live set, W.L.V.S’s four-handed set uniting The Driver (aka Manu Le Malin) and Electric Rescue, the raw energy of Daria Kolosova, and Nina Farrina’s soulful touch, the program moves between techno aesthetics without ever letting the rhythm drop.
Daria Kolosova
Trained on piano before moving behind the decks, Daria Kolosova has been a fixture on the techno scene since 2010. She has performed at the ∄ in Kiev, at Fuse in Brussels, at Fold in London, and at Awakenings, Glitch, Ickra, Tantsa and ADE.
Nina Farrina
Nourished by the sounds of the 90s and 2000s, Nina Farrina champions soulful techno without compromise. Co-founder of the Cliwax Series in Bratislava, resident at Fuchs2 in Prague, she now presents her own project Bruxa at Ankali. Her path has included Tresor, RSO, Khidi, the Zoo, Pohoda and Grape.
Phara (live)
Vinyl-only, surgical precision. Phara draws on the roots of Detroit, Berlin and the UK, with detours into post-punk and EBM. Having releases on Soma, SK Eleven, Stockholm LTD and Planet Rhythm, he runs his own label, Phaaar, and holds a residency at Fuse. Since 2022, his live breathes new life into the Korg EMX-1 on stage.
W.L.V.S
Electric Rescue and Manu Le Malin (under the alias The Driver) have joined forces since meeting at Astropolis in 2013. The former has left his mark on F Com, Bedrock, Flash and BNR, while the latter has reigned on the hardcore scene for more than twenty years. Four hands on two decks and six turntables, their sets have left a mark at Weather, Marsatac, Scopitone and Printemps de Bourges.
