As Warning is about to unveil its first album of new material in twenty years, Patrick Walker returns to this project without posturing, after having long focused his energy on 40 Watt Sun. In the meantime, the Warning name continued to circulate, carried by a growing fan base and by the cult status of Watching from a Distance (2006), performed on stage with success in 2017, proof that a real live band could hold its own.
At the start of 2025, following a decisive period in his life, Walker starts from a blank page and quickly realizes that these new songs belong to Warning. They will form Rituals of Shame, recorded at Arch Studio in Southport and mixed by Chris Fullard. True to the band's stripped-down, taut writing, the album delves into intimate themes — guilt, shame, obsession, longing, separation — with, as a through line, the idea of love as an anchor. Warning will play at Strange Brew, Bristol, on 9 December 2026.
