Requin Chagrin is the bedroom pop project of French songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Marion Brunetto. On her fourth album, Décollage, she embraces a new chapter, expanding her signature reverb-soaked guitars and garage-pop roots with shimmering synths, drum machines and a brighter new wave-inspired sound, without losing the intimate spirit that has defined Requin Chagrin from the beginning.
Seeking creative renewal, Brunetto left Paris behind and retreated to her childhood bedroom in Ramatuelle, transforming it into a temporary studio filled with guitars, synthesizers, basses, drums and vintage recording equipment. There, she wrote, recorded, scrapped and rebuilt songs until instinct finally took over, allowing the music to emerge naturally.
The result is an album that blends dreamy guitars, analogue synths, live drums and drum machines, capturing both the restless energy of youth and the freedom of artistic reinvention. These songs take on a different dimension live, where Brunetto and her band push the sound further with an energetic stage performance.
