On November 28, 2026, Charlie Winston checks his luggage at the Charlie Chaplin Cultural Centre in Vaulx-en-Velin for a solo concert, his first in France after years spent performing his songs with a band. A shift of focus: here, his songs reveal themselves differently—more naked, more direct—without losing what makes him powerful on stage. Between folk, pop and soul, the British singer-songwriter revisits his signature tracks, opens a new door on the songs from Love Isn’t Easy, and also slips in a few pieces that haven’t been performed as often. The aim isn’t to remake the concert as an “acoustic version,” but to reinvent it: pared-down arrangements, narration, room for the moment and for deviations. In this tighter format, everything hinges on the voice, the groove, and his distinctive way of guiding a song through its interpretation. An evening conceived as a meeting, aligned with the writing process.
