Ugly Kid Joe lands at the Big Band Café in Hérouville-Saint-Clair on February 5, 2027 to perform their old-school hard rock, somewhere between heavy metal, alternative, and hints of funk metal. Born in the late 1980s in California around Whitfield Crane and Klaus Eichstadt, the band quickly carved out a place in the early 1990s with tracks driven by upfront choruses, a contrarian edge, and a raw energy that didn’t prevent melodies from sticking.
The setlist promises to span the tracks that marked their first period, from the EP As Ugly as They Wanna Be to America’s Least Wanted, up to the records released after their return. Split in 1997 and reformed in 2010, they kick-started the machine with Stairway to Hell, Uglier Than They Used ta Be and more recently Rad Wings of Destiny. On stage, the original core (Crane, Eichstadt, Cordell Crockett, Dave Fortman) is complemented by Zac Morris on drums, with the same drive to go straight for the jugular.
