Info
The Exploited, the hard-hitting, club-swinging UK punk act: born in Edinburgh in the late 1970s around Wattie Buchan, the band took the era’s social rage and turned it into a dry, fast, upfront street punk. By 1980 they released their first EPs, 'Army Life' and 'Exploited Barmy Army', and established this shouted sound, built on simple riffs, pack-like backing vocals, and lyrics that bite against complacency, corruption, and political contempt. In the early 80s, 'Punks Not Dead' followed by 'Troops of Tomorrow' defined the UK82 aesthetic in their own way: full-tilt tempo, slogans that stick in the brain, and a live energy sharpened for riot. The rest would not seek broad public conversion, but continuity and hardening, flirting with crossover thrash on several records, without losing the punk edge. See you on 31 October 2026 at The Castle & Falcon, Birmingham, to revisit this no-nonsense repertoire, carried by an attitude that has remained faithful to its origins.
